The painter ,Paul Hermann Wagner ,was born in Rothenburg in 1852.
Until the age of fifteen he studied at the ‘Realschule’in Görlitz and after that period he went to the’Josefinenhütte’ to learn the glass painting.
In 1875 he went to München and worked there as a porcelain painter and studied at the ‘Academy of München’under Löfftz and Lindenschmit.
In 1881 he got , together with a study friend, an order to restore the totallydamaged wallpainting of Bernard Neher at Isartor.
In 1884 he made two big paintings in the theater of Albert Schmidt , called ‘Börse an der Theatiner’. The biggest part shows us the children with the almost natural photagraphic scenes. He was caught by the mimic of the children faces.
Most of these works are made in Kochel where he worked during the summer and at last moved to this place.
He had several exhibitions in Berlin.
He was a member of the ‘Luitpold society’and he joined the’ Münchner Künstlergenossenschaft’.
