Biography:

Sipke ‘Cornelis’ Kool was born in Leeuwarden on August 27th, 1836. He lived and worked there till 1857. Later on he moved to The Hague, Rijswijk, Rome, Amsterdam and Blaricum.

 

He was a student of C. Bisschof and painted mostly genre scenes. He also travelled to Italy to work there. He had several exhibitions in Amsterdam and The Hague 1861-1896.

 

The painter died in Blaricum in 1902.

 

Work of the painter is part of the collection of:

Gemeente Museum - The Hague,

Singer museum-Laren and

Rijksmuseum-Amsterdam.
