Biography:

Constant David Ludovic Artz was born in The Hague as the son of David Adolf Constant Artz, who was a painter of mostly fisherman scenes.

 

He followed the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, where he was a pupil of Tony Offermans. He also received lessons from H.W. Mesdag.

 

He lived and worked in Soestdijk and became already during his life a very famous artist. Constant painted mainly rural life scenes, landscapes and mills, with a special affection for ducks.

 

He was also an excellent water colorist.
