Cornelis Bouter was the pseudonym of Cornelis Wouter Verschuur, Cornelis Wouter, other pseudonyms; C.Willems, A.J.Eybergen and C.Hendriks.
The painter lived in The Hague until 1929, then he moved to Voorburg and then back to The Hague.
He also worked in the U.S.A. and Canada. He worked also for American Art-dealers.
He mostly painted exclusively scenes of rural life in the traditional manner of Dutch landscape artists. He created also many horse paintings, painted also genre pieces and interiors.
His paintings are still very beloved in the U.S.A.
