Pieter Lodewijk Francisco Kluyver was born in Amsterdam on the 22nd of March 1816.
Most of his work are landscapes (panoramas), combined with sunlight effects.
Especially his winter landscapes are very much in demand; the combination of a winterland, together with his much praised sunlight effect, is absolutely unique.
Like many painters in the 18th and 19th century, also Kluyver was assisted by other skillsmen before finishing and completing his work. If possible, he would work with his artistic friend, Salomon Leonardus Verveer (1813 - 1876).
The reason for this cooperation was simple: Every painter had his specialty.
The higher goal was nothing but to create a painting of superior quality.
Pieter Lodewijk Francisco Kluyver died on the 4th of January 1900 in Amsterdam.
